“Analay is like a (mixed) box of chocolates”
Arrived in the middle of an awful monsoon storm… Just got in and the bungalow ceiling threw a covering of feathers, dust and roof contents into the bungalow… I could also see metal sheets of the bungalow opposite flapping in the wind… See the two pics. When I alerted the managers, the female was receptive and sent staff to clean up and offered me another bungalow… But I kindly declined because I figured the wind could’ve affected a number of them. I was advised the flapping roof on the bungalow opposite was on the list to be repaired… But I thought they would’ve liked to have known of the flashing??…because that would indicate water leakage if the roof was not sealed? 🤷🏻♀️ The male manager was not happy with my reports and yelled at staff…while I don’t understand Thai I got the demeanour and the glaring looks… The roof was fixed temporarily that day and replaced completely the next. The whole resort however, is indicative of the roof story. I could see staff at different times doing repairs around the place but the whole resort is in such a state of disarray that they would need an army to bring it up to speed. There were planks missing on the walkway which were also replaced while I was there, however getting from the reception where breakfast is held to the bungalow involved a bit of cross country and walking through mud and water at times. Good venue for goats…but not for small children, older people or those generally unsteady on their feet. …on a plus side, the staff who cleaned, and some of the breakfast stuff were absolutely lovely. The views including the private beach are stunning. I consider this place has immense potential as the location is stunning… but it is so rundown and has such a grumpy male manager who could only glare at me each time he encountered me.
