“Ideally located and good price.”
Spent 6 nights here after arriving in Taipei. Check-in was smooth., and they provided answers to my questions such as the location of the nearest convenience store and laundromat. I lost the keycard the very next day, but the check-in staff didn’t make a big deal of it and provided me with a replacement straight away. Other staff I came across during my stay were polite and courteous, Room size was a little small, but big enough for one person. An iPad is provided which acts as the Smart Control for the tv, lights, curtain and blackout blinds. I thought that this was a good idea, but there could be a privacy issue with the video/audio that could be picked up. A Mini-fridge is provided, and two bottles of water are replenished every day. There is no kettle so you can’t boil water for a cup of tea or a bowl of instant noodles. Shower was in a little cubicle with the toilet. Nothing to say about the toilet - nothing special. Water pressure was good in the shower, with shower gel provided. Small bits of mould were seen so management should deal with this before it gets to be a bigger problem. I thought the wash basin was a little high, and there was general wear and tear visible around the mirror. I did not require an adapter for my UK 3 plugs which was good. Room was cleaned daily with towels replaced, and bedding changed. No laundry facilities onsite, but there is a laundromat about a 5 minute walk away. Reception can advise of the location, but it can be found on Google Maps quite easily. There is an ironing room provided on two floors of the hotel - this is a closet with an iron and ironing board, and a necessary air conditioning unit. Check out was smooth - no staff were about, so I handled it myself. I accidentally left behind something, and didn’t realise until the hotel emailed me a photo of said item by the room number. Luckily, I will be popping back to Taipei, and I will be able to pick up the item then. A well located hotel at a great price. Unsure how the acquisition by the Marriott group will affect how the hotel operates in the future - it would be a shame if they change it to fit the Marriott blueprint.
