This positive start showed the front desk was well organized. Room Assignment & Transitions However, the first room had several immediate problems. Its location near the lobby and elevator caused constant noise, making conversations easy to hear throughout the evening. Although the room had a bathtub, it lacked a stopper, making it unusable. This was especially disappointing since the bathtub was a major reason for choosing and paying more for this room type. When I asked for a room change, I was told it would take time to find a similar room, but no estimate was given. I left my luggage in the room and stepped out briefly. When I returned, I found I had been reassigned to another room nearby. This second room had the same noise issues as the first and, notably, it didn’t have a bathtub. This further reduced the value of my booking. I could still hear conversations and noise from staff attending to nearby rooms. I was assured that they would keep looking for a better room. Unfortunately, my separate request to the central reservations email went unanswered. Second Day Developments By the next evening, there were still few options available. The lobby was busy with groups of students attending what looked like scheduled events, suggesting the hotel was full or nearly full. The assigned room’s location, near a fire exit and maintenance area, explained the continual noise disruptions. That evening, after a tiring day, I followed up again at the concierge. Mech kindly took charge of the situation and quickly arranged for me to view another room. Lawrence showed me the new room promptly. It finally met most of my needs: it was quiet, windowless, and farther from busy areas. Although some noise still came through the door due to thin walls, I accepted the room as a significant improvement. After several rounds of packing and unpacking, I could finally settle in. I am very grateful to both Mech and Lawrence for their professionalism, quick responses, and calm help amid what had been a confusing process. Rest & Comfort From the third night onward, I could finally get good rest. The new room was close to a service area where housekeeping staff occasionally gathered, but the noise was much quieter than before. For the first time during my stay, I was able to sleep well and recover. Amenities & Final Notes The television provided only local channels. While streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ were available, they required personal account logins. This was a minor inconvenience, as getting rest was my main focus during the last days of my stay. My Personal Conclusion This stay could have earned a higher rating if I had received the final room assignment from the start. The repeated moves and failure to meet my stated preferences took away from what could have been a relaxing staycation.
