“Nice place, but here are a few tips”
Our family was moved to a sister property (Loju Castle Inn) on another part of the island as a last minute change. We had a comparable room to the one we originally booked, but this property was not near the water as we had hoped. It was very clean and good value for the money we paid. I enjoyed the ice-maker in the lobby, and our kids appreciated the small complimentary snacks set out each morning. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was nice. A couple of things to be aware of (especially for non-Taiwanese travelers): 1) Contrary to the listing, there is actually no shuttle service to help transport luggage from the pier. We were able to negotiate with our scooter rental company when we rented scooters, and they were able to deliver the luggage for us. 2) The free breakfast that is advertised with the rooms is actually coupons for a local breakfast shop (Hong Mama) that is about at 10 minute scooter ride away from the inn. The amount money we were given in breakfast vouchers was more than sufficient, but it was a hassle to have to drive to the breakfast location. There is no seating at the breakfast place, so it might be better to send one person to pick it up and bring back to the inn to eat there. Also, this is a very local place, with traditional Taiwanese breakfasts and very little English written or spoken. I imagine that it would be very difficult to navigate if you don't speak Chinese. 3) You will want to add the Inn's Line contact in order to communicate with staff since there are usually no workers present. There was a staff worker there when we checked in, but most of the time, there was no one at the front desk. 4) I also discovered the morning that we checked out that there is a clothes spinner in the lobby bathroom that would have been great to have known about earlier in our stay.
