This is an old hotel, and while the facilities are a bit outdated, everything else is great. I made the reservation here early because I was going to the Osaka-jo Hall for a concert, and it's really close, about a 2-minute walk, just across a bridge. After buying what I needed nearby, I could return to the hotel to rest for a bit, time my entrance perfectly, and monitor the crowd flow. This choice made the entire concert experience very relaxing. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Osaka Castle Park on the Osaka Loop Line to the hotel, and there are quite a few other transit options nearby. It only takes about a 10-minute ride to the Umeda shopping district. I'm not sure if the hotel is aware that most guests are here for concerts or if it’s random, but there are a lot of fellow fans on this floor. After the concert, we all went home together and even greeted the fellow fan next door. The room type also directly faces the Osaka-jo Hall. The breakfast is indeed very rich, but I found the taste to be average; the Japanese food seemed a bit tastier than the Western options. There was a line in the evening, which indicates that the hotel is doing really well with a high occupancy rate. Next door is YTV, the headquarters of Detective Conan, and this hotel is also featured as a prototype in Conan, as is Osaka Castle Park, so fans of Conan are thrilled.
