“One of the most comfortable dorms I've stayed”

I actually was looking to stay in Oak Hostel Cabin which I stayed a couple of years back but unfortunately they had closed and I came across Oak Hotel Edo (which happened by chance), since I had pleasant stay during my last stay there, I took a leap and decided to give it a try here. Stayed in Oak Hostel Edo (dorminatory) for 7 nights and I was very happy with the stay. Pros: No 1 and the best of all, the location! Just literally a 3-4 mins walk from Morishita station which is linked to both Shinjuku and Oedo lines. Don't have to worry about food as there's Matsuya and Sukiya which are 24 hours. Family Mart is literally next to the hotel. No2 cleanliness is amazing, showers and toilets are separate which is a blessing. However, it is shared so it can be a wee bit of a wait, thus I wake up early to do my business. No3 they have a set rules to comply to ensure a proper stay for all which can be slightly tedious but it does eliminate the issues of smelly clothes or towels in the dorm. No4 the beds were really comfortable and are relatively private with curtains. No5 the friendliness of all the staff is great and helpful. You could also rent a bike for a day for 500 yen which is helpful too. No6 the room only has a max of 10 occupants thus it wasnt as noisy unless you have some noisy dorm mates, so its always better to bring earplugs, but if you forget, you can get it at the reception at 50 yen which is a bargain to be honest. No7 The dorm has its own fridge, powder room and lockers which is amazing. Some areas of improvement I would recommend. No1 The common room hours would be great if it can be extended to at least a little later, as most guests only return around 9-10pm and would like to eat instant noodles etc but with the common room closed and unable to eat in the room, it becomes a little difficult. No2 slippers for corridors or hallways, whilst the room provides slippers for use in the room, you are not allowed to use the slippers to walk in walkways or the corridors. For myself, I only had my shoes, so to get to the toilets or to shower kinda became a little inconvenient. Maybe allow guests to rent or purchase a pair of slippers would be nice. Other than that, I absolutely loved my stay here. If I were to visit tokyo again, this would be my choice as well. Thank you to the team at Oak Hotel Edo for making my stay a great one.

    “Japan '25 Trip”

The staff was wonderful in communicating with us. I was concerned about being late to the hotel and kept messaging them about the arrival time, which they understood and communicated with us quickly and kindly. Be aware that the hotel rooms are small, like any other Japanese hotel. There is a lounge open till 10pm, shared shower rooms on the 2nd floor, and a 10-floor rooftop. The location is close to konbini (7/11, Lawson, FamilyMart) and other restaurants/shops that you can walk in the neighborhood to explore. The staff would occasionally leave a note on our door ahead of time to clean your room (if there is a do not disturb sign) as it's a every 3 day house keeping policy. The only concern we had was we heard someone come into our room twice while one of us were still at the hotel alone while the others were out. We heard loud running back and forth in the halls. We did let the front desk know about this situation, and they were worried and did their best to help us enjoy our stay here. Since we couldn't 100% confirm if someone did come in or not because it could've been many other factors (one of our group members or heard it from next door). Other than that, there are many rental options provided by the hotel (scale, bike, etc.). We enjoyed our stay here for our first time in Japan. From the 204 RM girls if staff ever sees this :) ありがと ございます!!!

“Great location. Nice balcony but staff and customer service needs to improve ”

Adequate size room for tokyo. Not too big and small. Just enough room for two check in bags to be opened. I just really liked that they had a queen size bed in a city where its extremely difficult to find a queen size bed in a 2 star hotel. Great balcony on top floor which provides an excellent view of the city. I also really appreciated that they provided a brand new bath sponge. It was really unique. It came in a plastic air tight sealed packaged flattened. Extras: After you open the bag, you add water to it and the sponge begins to expand just like a real sponge. I never experienced anything like this in a hotel or in general for the matter. I guess japan really living in the future. Now for the bad: customer service leaves a lot to be desired. No one helped with the bags during check out or check in. I lugged everything myself going up the stairs while the staff idly stared. During check out, I felt bad because they staff basically let the female cab driver take all the luggage herself. It wasn't my intention but had to run back to room and when i came back i saw the female cab driver carrying the last bag by herself. They also rushed out of our room so they can clean it. It was bad my wife was naked and she was fighting with the door with the housekeeper. Despite her saying she was naked the housekeeper still kept tugging. I will give them the benefit doubt and just blame it on a language barrier. Regardless, he still shouldn't have kept tugging, when he felt push back. Keep in mind, check out was the next day so there was no need to rush. They kind of apologized the next day while laughing. Its whatever. The stay overall was good esp due to its location being only a 30 minute train ride to shibuya. So i have no regrets

“The best budget choice, friendly staff! ”

My first travel to Tokyo, Japan, and this accomodation did not disappoint. I traveled during winter and their heater and tub with hot shower really helped. I also loved that they provided a japanese robe that I get to wear during the stay. This hotel is strategically located that the stations are just a block away which will connect you smoothly to other stations in Tokyo (didn't have a problem with my train acccess to get to my tours on time during my stay) . There is an automated laundry/dryer just outside the hotel which was easy to use. Family mart and 7 eleven is a walk away. Nearby food stops as well, tasty food and some cheap ones too. They have friendly staff, sir Seiya was really accomodating. They will also clean your unit every 3 days as recommended. They replaced my towel, face towel with new ones. The place is peaceful, really felt at home during my stay. I also got to walk around outside at night safely but I should have tried renting a bike too during my stay as I saw there was a rental as well.

    “Perfect Location & Fantastic Facilities!”

Absolutely loved my stay in the dormitory here. The location is a huge plus – it's right next to a metro station and a comfortable walk to Akihabara, with plenty of facilities and a supermarket nearby. The hostel's facilities are top-notch. The bathrooms were a real highlight; the showers have the best water pressure I've ever experienced, and the toilets come with bidets. The shared kitchen is also amazing and well-equipped, though be aware that it closes a bit early. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They offer a cheap and convenient bike rental service which is perfect for exploring. Just a word of warning: make sure to return the bike by 11 PM, or you'll be charged for another full day's rental (which happened to me!). Minor points aside, this place is fantastic. Don't hesitate to book it!
