1. Location: Bus stop is located right in front of the hotel with buses that take to Admiralty and Hong Kong Airport Express Station. Walking distance to Wanchai, Happy Valley and Causeway Bay. Walking distance to the entrance of Bowen Road Fitness Trail and the Happy Valley Race Course as well as its public sporting facilities. 12-15 minutes walk to Wanchai MTR Station. We felt that its location is ideal for guests who like to stay on the Hong Kong Island side and near the hustle and bustle shopping/dining areas as well as not too far away from the central business district and the tourist spots including public sporting facilities. 2. Hotel Room: Our room was located on 12/F’s corner room which was quiet, high level with partial open city view which was exactly what we requested. Sound proof of the room is very good. Cleanliness of our room was fantastic. Water pressure of the shower was great. Bed and bedding were luxurious and comfortable. We didn’t like the limited TV channels, and a couple pieces of bulky furniture in our room due to the unusual layout of the room which was trying to maximise the city view from the corner room. 3. Facilities of the hotel: The hotel offered quite a few dining areas for guests, however, we didn’t have a chance to try during our stay due to our own busy schedules meeting with friends and family members. 4. Value for money: Considering that our stay was during the peak season with very pleasant weather, we were happy with what we paid for what we got from this hotel. As a whole, we had a pretty enjoyable stay at this hotel throughout our six nights’ stay, and would like to recommend to the other guests who would love to stay at the Hong Kong Island side.
I’m a long time Hong Kong resident who stayed here 2 weeks while too knee injured to live in my usual apartment. The staff were excellent about my injury, with the manager upon checkin proactively offering help. They then among other highlights brought deliveries up to my room every day (beyond most hotels every day) and even hunted down when my food got delivered to the next door hotel one time. It was also possibly the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in, in effect and housekeeping habits. Usually hotels activate my dust mite allergy but I needed no medicine at this one. I noticed housekeeping even wiped down the bathroom door every time they cleaned my room and washed the hallway carpet in addition to vacuuming it. Other key points: - the closet is too small for business travel (dresses) or unpacking checked luggage. I couldn’t fit my work laptop in the safe. - Location is great for taxis and Ubers based on the roads it’s on. However, no dedicated taxi spot, and a 10-minute walk from the nearest train station, which is far by urban Hong Kong standards. - F&B is better than most Hong Kong hotels but subpar to the exceptional restaurants and bars in the same neighborhood - rooftop bar is a hidden gem in views and lack of crowds but as an actual bar see my F&B comment - gym’s only resistance equipment was dumbbells. Once again fairly common in HK real estate of hotels.
Dear Valued Guest, Thank you so much for choosing The Emperor Hotel and for sharing your kind feedback. We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay and hope your time in Hong Kong was truly memorable. We can’t wait to welcome you back again soon! Warm regards, The Emperor Hotel
Because i booked this hotel waaaay in advance, i somehow forgot that i already paid for the hotek and ended up booking another room. When i arrived at the hotel, they told me there were 2 rooms under my room and i was so confused. They reminded me how it came about and of course i was astonished because the later booking was *** more than the previous one. I requested cancellation of the more expensive rooms and to reverse said charge with Agoda. I explained my case to them. Seeing that it might take a while, they kindly checked me in first so i can place my luggage and then be comfortable while trying to dispute the whole thing. Agoda responded eventually that the hotel would decide whether cancelation will be allowed. I had to talk with the manager and all the receptionists which were kind enough to listen to my plight. They eventually allowed cancellation of the more expensive room despite it being totally my oversight. I am forever grateful that they saved me ***. Location is great and very accessible. I could walk to a nearby mall. The convention center is walking distance. A lot of hole in the wall restaurants. This will definitely my go to place when i go back to HK for vacation with my family. Thank you so much Emperor hotel and more power to you guys. Blessed be your life for the grace you have shown a weary, solo traveler. <3
This hotel is on my list of places that I would choose again if I visit Hong Kong. Although some people say it is far from shopping areas and temples, the truth is the transportation is convenient, as the hotel offers a shuttle bus service and is close to the MTR station, bus stops, and tram stops. Additionally, if you want to have a new experience, there is a ferry from Causeway Bay to Tsim Sha Tsui. From the moment I stepped into the hotel to drop off my luggage, I received excellent service. The staff was polite, helpful, and attentive. There are three elevators, which are sufficient for the guests. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with complete amenities. I was lucky to get a room with a view of the garden, so in the morning, I was greeted with a nice atmosphere. However, I must warn those who may have high expectations that this hotel may have some views that are not appealing, as there is a view into the Muslim Cemetery, which might make some guests feel uncomfortable.

“A hotel that is willing to communicate and resolve issues”
We booked a room for two adults and one child (10yrs) on Agoda. The option shown was a Superior Room. However, when we arrived at the front desk, the staff said they were concerned that the bed might be too small for us. They therefore assigned us a room next to the gym, explaining that the two beds in that room could be pushed together so that we could fit. This room did not have a city view, which did not match what I had booked. At the time, I believed this was the only room where the beds could be pushed together. On the first day of check-in, we found that the shower drain was blocked. The front desk sent someone to fix it, and the issue was handled relatively promptly. On the last night, at around 1:00 a.m., there were still people running in the gym, and the noise was very clear in our room. I called to complain. • The first call did not resolve the issue. The staff only told us that they had checked and confirmed that someone was indeed running. • After making a second complaint, the front desk finally sent someone to stop the person running. (The first response was not very satisfactory—once a complaint is made, the expectation is for it to be resolved, not just to confirm that the problem exists. However, the second response did resolve the issue.) On the morning of check-out, before 7:00 a.m., people started running in the gym again. We really couldn’t tolerate it anymore, so we went to the front desk to complain. We explained that: • They should not have assigned us a room next to the gym. • Our online booking clearly stated city view and accommodation for two adults and one child, but upon arrival, we were given what seemed to be the only room that could fit us, which did not match the online description. At first, the front desk did not try to resolve the problem, and instead said that the “two adults and one child” option on Agoda was actually not suitable, and that they listed it that way only because the website did not give them other options. After we provided: • Evidence from the website showing separate room types for double occupancy and for two adults with one child, • Records of the complaint calls from the previous night, • The maintenance record for the blocked drain on the first day, and • Audio recordings of the treadmill noise from the neighboring gym, the hotel eventually compensated us by covering the cost of our airport transfer on the departure day (a 7-seater vehicle). Overall, the final outcome was satisfactory. If other guests are assigned rooms next to the gym, please note that the front desk later told us that you can request a room change on the second day if you are not satisfied. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned at check-in; we were only told after the problems occurred, when there was no time left to change rooms. I am sharing this experience so that more travelers can be informed and use it as a reference. In the end, I was satisfied with the hotel’s final handling of the issue and the attitude of the staff, and they even recommended an excellent local dim sum restaurant to us.
