"I went to Korea last summer and had a great time staying in STEP INN. It's very clean, cozy with friendly staff who gave me recommendation of a local hair salon when I asked for it:) The location is in the center of Myeongdong and super easy to shop and go around by train. I remember I even cancelled my bookings for another hotel and continued staying here when I came back to Seoul from Bishan due to its great location near the airport shuttle bus stop. Other than that, I also happened to bump into MonstaX's mini concert near the hostel in Myeongdong on my first day staying there, walking down the street in the morning... The only drawbacks for some might be the room can be quite small. But I like cozy rooms! I feel it's good for solo travelers or students."

"This is our first time visiting south korea and although we have friends living here we opted to rent a room near the city. For a very affordable price the place is very clean, the breakfast is good and the best part is the staffs are accommodating plus it's open 24hours a day. The place is near to myeongdong station and right after you leave the hostel you are already in the famous myeongdong shopping street. We can't wait to go back and hopefully there are still rooms available for us to stay in! If you want an affordable stay inn hotel go try this one out, it will not disappoint you. More power to the crew! Ps. lucky enough that our room has a view of the Nseoul tower and myeongodong cathedral"

"I booked 2 nights for a 2 week trip in Korea. Shrek and Fiona and the friendly environment they've created quickly changed that into a 6 week stay in Korea with G Guesthouse as a base to travel from. Shrek and Fiona are incredibly knowledgeable with not only the Itaewon/Seoul area but most places you would want to visit in Korea. Oh and the rooftop garden is nice too. Kimchi Jjigae! "

"Guesthouse is pretty easy to locate as there is a "K Guesthouse" sign on the rooftop that you can see once fron the subway exit. Though the exit near Lotte Fitin has escalators, it's still difficult to go around if you're lugging more than one suitcase. If you came to Seoul to do shopping, this is a great place to stay at since you dont need to worry about transportation after a whole day of shopping at Dongdaemun's night market. Staff on duty speak good English and readily help guests when needed. I had a hard time understanding the controls for the TV and AC and one of them even came up to the room to explain it to me. The room I booked was quite small, even for one person. Once you open your luggage, theres isn't much room left even to walk to the door. I visited during the winter and the heater worked fine but I imagine it would be quite stuffy during the warmer months without the AC on full blast. Overall a budget accomodation Id recommend. Will definitely consider booking again."

"Considering the amount of cash we shelled out, Seoul Backpackers Hostel is fantastic! It is located very close to the train station and is walking distance to Namdemun market. The staff speak good English and are always very helpful. The rooms are very clean and they replace towels (small sized though) everyday. If you wont be spending most of your time in the hotel, Seoul Backpackers Hostel is perfect. The only downsides are the breakfast menu consist of noodles, coffee, bread and jam (carbo loading!) and the TV only has Korean shows. There is a convenient store nearby as well. Overall, Id go back to this hotel if I were to go back to Korea, but perhaps stay in central Myeongdong (they have lots of branches)."

"Philstay is the best Hostel I've stayed at so far! Room: It is fairly sized, very nice layout, luggage can be stored under the bed, Bed is so comfy and the sheets are great, you can request it to be changed anytime, The room is not that soundproof but its okay, the ceiling is low but we are short anyway, The mini Ref is very useful, but needs more energy to cool. TV is great. The Towels are changed always and they are high quality ones. The AC is great :) Needs more shelves on the walls if possible Bathroom: Very small but functional, very nice magic toilet with features, shower is great and can be a bidet, Amenities/Services: Wifi is the BEST not only in the Hostel but in all of Korea! The Breakfast was great many choices even though it repeats everyday. (We stayed 6 nights) but its okay no big deal! Other hotels have only eggs and toast but here they have add ons! The Mini wall mounted washing machine + spinners (4 per floor) are so cute and handy! We can wash almost any time for FREE!!! They offer free simcards too. They have so many services. You can also go to the rooftop to eat or just chill. Building has a LIFT! I hope we can find a fabric softener. Location: Its the best! It is 5 mins away from Myeongdong Station! Surrounded by restos, convenience stores, shopping area, etc! In Short close to everything! Staff: Very Friendly, Can speak great English, prompt and cleans right away. they are very approachable and gives us great advices! Price: A bit pricey than my usual bookings but its worth it! Conclusion: Would recommend this place and would surely come back!! I have never found a place so cute, modern, complete and functional! you can also meet new friends here! "
